Born in England, Nicholas Bishop came to Australia with his parents when he was six months old. His father was a Colonel in the army and then a diplomat, which meant Bishop and his family were constantly on the move, living in Washington DC, Singapore, Canberra, Queensland and Adelaide.

Bishop first became enamored with becoming an actor at age nine when he saw his first Broadway show. His desire followed him through high school where, after graduating, Bishop auditioned and won a place at the Centre of the Performing Arts in Adelaide.

At 19 he decided to take his first step towards a serious acting career, he auditioned and was accepted into the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Since graduating with a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts majoring in Acting, Bishop has worked extensively in theatre, film and television.

During his time at NIDA he was in nine productions, and professionally has performed in the Shakespeare plays Hamlet, Othello, and Macbeth, He has had the lead roles in feature films including "Occasional Course Language", "My Mother Frank", "Powderburn" and the critically acclaimed "Walking on Water". His television credits include "McLeods Daughters", "Heartbreak High", "Water Rats", "Blue Heelers", "Farscape", "White Collar Blue" and "All Saints".

Prior to "Punishment" Bishop completed a three year stint on "Home and Away" playing Detective Peter Baker.
His passion for acting has also seen Bishop give back to the industry, teaching Screen Acting workshops to full time and part time students at NIDA, and across the country, as well as being an Australia Day Ambassador for the entertainment industry.
